About the Job:
The Assistant Editor will play a key role in supporting the editorial processes of the ICLQ. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in academic publishing, work closely with leading scholars, and contribute to the dissemination of critical legal knowledge. The successful candidate will be involved in all stages of the editorial process, including reviewing submissions, copyediting, and managing correspondence with authors and reviewers.
Eligibility:
- Candidates should have a background in law, with a strong interest in international and comparative law.
- Previous experience in academic publishing or editing is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently are required.
- Legal research skills and familiarity with academic writing are essential.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the editorial review of submissions and ensuring they meet the journal’s standards.
- Copyediting manuscripts for clarity, grammar, and adherence to ICLQ style guidelines.
- Communicating with authors, reviewers, and other editorial staff regarding submissions and revisions.
- Supporting the editorial team in managing the peer review process.
- Contributing to the development and improvement of editorial policies and practices.
- Ensuring the timely publication of articles and assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.
Duration:
The role is offered for an initial period of 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance.
