The firm provides advisory and dispute resolution services in civil disputes, commercial disputes, real estate disputes, and tax matters including raids, election laws, white-collar crimes and money laundering.


About the Positions:

Akand & Partners is currently hiring for multiple positions within the organization. We are looking for talented and dedicated individuals to join our team of legal experts. The positions available include Knowledge Editor, Manager- Events & Communication, Senior Associates, Associates, Manager- Partnerships and Business Development, Personal Secretary, and Accountant. Each position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment and contribute to the firm’s growth.


Eligibility:

Knowledge Editor:


  • Graduation in law is necessary

  • At least one year (1) year post qualification experience in the field of mass communication, content editorial

  • Handling of social media content and handles

  • Creating social media attractive short messages for publishing

  • Writing articles under the supervision of partners for publication

  • News journals updated for corporate practice

  • Weekly newsletter to update for clients within our practice areas

  • Update new corporate developments

  • Need to oversee web design and content editing (WordPress or relevant web tools)

  • Create a repository of documents

  • Overall capturing firm knowledge ready to use

  • Creating precedent documentation and their gist for the firm

  • Capturing and updating latest Supreme Court/ High Court judgments, orders and proceedings with respect to corporate practices



Manager- Events & Communication:

  • Graduate additional specialised in the area of event management

  • One (1) to Two (2) years of experience in the legal field

  • Creating a calendar of events, planning and execution till the logical conclusion of the event

  • Planning for seminars, workshops and conferences- list out expertise, participants coordinate and send out invitation budgeting and execution of the seminar on relevant practice areas

  • Weekly training /workshop to encourage each person to share internally their practice area by way of presentation/ updating all colleagues

  • Creating engagements and obtaining paid participation in the events

  • Coordinating for venue, transportation and other requirements

  • Knowledge of mass email, web scrapping, etc., shall be an added advantage


Senior Associates :

  • Law Graduate additionally an LLM


Four (4) plus years of post-qualification experience in General Corporate- Transaction & Advisory

  • Capable of work delegation, supervision, team leadership and contract negotiation

  • Independently handling clients and co-ordinating with associates and using firm expertise maximum with minimum time spent on the specialised area of practice

  • Attracting new clients by way of creating an expertise practice area

  • Finding new avenues of practice area for future business development


Associate -


Law Graduate

  • Two (2) plus years of experience in the General Corporate Transaction Advisory / Dispute Resolution

  • Co-ordinating with senior associates and using firm expertise maximum with minimum time spent on the specialised area of practice


Manager- Partnerships and Business Development:

  • Graduate / MBA and above (knowledge of law working experience in a law firm shall be an added advantage)

  • Two to four years of experience in the field of business development

  • Generating leads for partner meetings

  • Prepare presentations, profiles, and ideas for business development

  • Update current affairs and business opportunities in the legal field

  • Finding opportunities / new ideas to develop partnership affairs

  • Finding new legal business developing area

  • Co-ordinating with new business opportunities national/international firms

  • Client feedback and their satisfaction level by interaction and client survey

  • Follow up with prospective clients

  • Prepare a roadmap for the business development plan

  • Initiate, coordinating and collaboration with firms for business development


Personal Secretary:

  • Graduate / computer knowledge of MS Office, Excel

  • Four (4) years of experience post qualification

  • Managing Partner’s diary and appointments for effective utilisation of time and fruitful conduct of meetings

  • Prepare letters, presentations, documentation and formatting

  • Proficiency in maintaining work lists and follow-up is a must

  • Partners travel coordination ticket and hotel booking

  • Partners timesheet management

  • Handling of basic office affairs


Accountant

Commerce Graduate

  • Two (2) plus years of experience in the accounts with Tally or/ respective accounts software

  • Tally and excel proficiency (including use of formulae)

  • Capable of managing TDS deduction, returns, GST payment and returns independently

  • Maintaining Day book across the branches, updating partners on a regular basis

  • Finalising balance sheet and finalising accounts with CA as per requirement

  • Updating partners on any kind of mis-handling or any unforeseen transactions in advance

  • Timely tax compliance and precaution advance tax requirements well in advance.
