Judicial Internship – Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan, Supreme Court of India

About the Office:

The Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan, a Judge of the Supreme Court of India, offers a prestigious opportunity for law students to gain practical experience in the field of law and judiciary. The office is committed to fostering legal excellence by providing interns with immersive learning experiences, enabling them to understand the intricacies of legal research, case analysis, and judicial proceedings.


About the Internship:

This is a physical, full-time internship program taking place from November 2024 to May 2025. The internship is designed to offer students the opportunity to work closely with Justice K.V. Viswanathan and his team, gaining firsthand exposure to the functioning of the Supreme Court of India. Interns will engage in high-level legal research, drafting, and case analysis. The internship is for one month and may be extended based on performance and availability.


Eligibility:

- Undergraduate law students (2nd year or above in a 3-year program, 3rd year or above in a 5-year program).

- Postgraduate law students pursuing LLM or similar degrees.


Roles and Responsibilities:

- Prepare briefs summarizing case facts, legal arguments, and relevant case law.

- Conduct in-depth legal research on various legal issues and prepare memos and legal opinions.

- Attend court proceedings and internal meetings, taking detailed minutes and notes.

- Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents.

- Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.


Duration:

- Internship starts on the 1st working day of every month.

- One-month duration, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability.
