Legal Internship at the Office of Central Government Counsel, Union of India

About the Company:

The Office of the Central Government Counsel, led by Adv. Sachin Saraswat, represents the Union of India in various legal matters across the Supreme Court of India, the Delhi High Court, and various other tribunals. Specializing in public sector litigation, this office is dedicated to defending the interests of the government in high-stakes legal cases, providing a unique intersection between public service and legal advocacy.


About the Internship:

This internship offers a unique opportunity for law students to gain practical, hands-on experience in public sector legal work. Interns will be part of a dynamic team working on cases that affect central government matters, including those related to armed forces, before the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi and other tribunals. Interns will work closely with seasoned Senior Counsel and government legal advisors, gaining invaluable insights into litigation and legal advisory processes within the public sector.


Eligibility:

- Students currently enrolled in a 3-year or 5-year law program.

- Basic understanding of legal principles, with foundational research and drafting skills.

- A proactive approach and eagerness to learn in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment.


Roles and Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research to support ongoing cases.

- Assist in drafting legal documents, case briefs, and advisory notes.

- Attend court hearings and team meetings as required.

- Collaborate with Senior Counsel and other team members to manage case files and conduct analysis on legal matters.

- Gain exposure to litigation, especially in areas related to central government and armed forces cases.


Duration:

Internship duration will be discussed upon selection, with flexible terms based on academic schedules.
