The International Bar Association (IBA) serves as the global voice of the legal profession, facilitating the exchange of information, fostering legal networks, and promoting the rule of law worldwide. The IBA's initiatives, including the Human Rights Institute, Legal Policy & Research Unit, and the eyeWitness to Atrocities program, focus on advancing international criminal law and human rights advocacy.


About the internship

The IBA Legal Internship Programme offers an exceptional opportunity for law students and early-career lawyers to gain hands-on experience in legal research, policy development, and global legal advocacy. Interns will collaborate with the IBA's various departments, including the Human Rights Institute, the Legal Policy & Research Unit, and the Executive Director in International Criminal Law.


Eligibility

- Undergraduate or postgraduate law students.

- Newly qualified lawyers.

- Strong interest in international law and human rights.

- Excellent research and communication skills.


Roles and responsibilities

- Conducting in-depth legal research and drafting comprehensive reports.

- Supporting policy initiatives related to international law.

- Assisting in the preparation of legal documents.

- Engaging with global legal professionals and human rights advocates.


Duration

The internship will run from April to June 2025.


Location

The internship will be based in London, United Kingdom.
