Legal Internship/Volunteer at the Research Centre for International Law and Human Rights (RCIL & HR)

About the Company:

The Research Centre for International Law and Human Rights (RCIL & HR) is a non-profit research institute based in The Netherlands. Comprising a team of highly qualified international lawyers and human rights experts, RCIL & HR specializes in international law, international relations, and their application to domestic law and foreign policy, particularly in Pakistan. The organization focuses on addressing pressing global legal issues by conducting comprehensive research and proposing legal and policy solutions.


About the Internship:

RCIL & HR is offering a 3-month unpaid remote internship/volunteer opportunity for law students, graduates, and those passionate about international law and human rights. Interns will join dedicated research teams and engage in legal research, drafting, human rights litigation, and awareness campaigns. This opportunity allows individuals to sharpen their academic research skills and potentially get published on one or more of RCIL & HR’s publication platforms.


Eligibility:

- Must be an undergraduate law student or hold a bachelor’s degree in law, or be a student/graduate in a related field. A master’s degree in law or a related subject is a plus.

- Must have knowledge or experience in international law and international relations.

- Passionate about human rights issues.

- Skilled in academic research and drafting.

- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

- Awareness of human rights conditions in Pakistan is a plus.

- Familiarity with international law issues relevant to Pakistan is desirable.


Roles and Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research and draft documents.

- Participate in academic research and publication efforts.

- Assist in strategic human rights and public interest litigation.

- Support in running awareness campaigns.

- Collaborate with senior members of RCIL & HR to further the association’s objectives.

Duration:

The internship lasts for 3 months and is remote.
