Legal Judicial Internship Opportunity

About the Office

The Office of Justice K.V. Viswanathan, Judge, Supreme Court of India, is offering in-person, full-time internship opportunities on a rolling basis from January 2024 to May 2025. This prestigious internship provides law students with a unique chance to gain firsthand experience in legal research, drafting, and courtroom procedures under the guidance of a sitting Supreme Court Judge.


About the Internship

Selected interns will work closely with the office to assist in legal research, drafting briefs, and attending court proceedings. Interns will be exposed to complex legal issues, enabling them to sharpen their analytical and drafting skills. This is an ideal opportunity for aspiring lawyers seeking an understanding of judicial processes at the highest level.


Eligibility

- Undergraduate law students (2nd year or above in a 3-year program, or 3rd year or above in a 5-year program)

- Postgraduate law students


Roles and Responsibilities

- Preparing briefs summarizing case facts, legal arguments, and relevant case law

- Conducting in-depth legal research and drafting memos and opinions

- Attending court proceedings and meetings, taking detailed minutes

- Ensuring confidentiality and professionalism in all tasks


Duration

Internships will begin on the first working day of every month and will be conducted on a rolling basis.

Additional Details

At the start of the internship, selected candidates will participate in an orientation session to understand essential procedures, tools, and policies. They will also be provided with necessary templates and protocols to prepare for their responsibilities.
