Pakistan Army Brutally Assaults Punjab Police in Bhawalnagar Clash

Pakistan Army

In a shocking turn of events in Bhawalnagar, Punjab province, Pakistan, viral videos surfaced depicting Pakistan Army soldiers mercilessly beating Punjab Police officials at the Madrisa Police Station. The incident unfolded following the police's confiscation of illegal weapons from the brother of one of the soldiers, escalating tensions between the two security forces.

Reports indicate that a group of approximately 40-50 Pakistan Army soldiers arrived at the police station in seven to eight vehicles. Seizing the keys from a police officer, they forcibly entered the premises, instigating chaos and violence. The soldiers proceeded to assault the police officials with rifle butts and sticks, with some officers sustaining serious injuries, including the station SHO. Visible marks left on the bodies of the beaten officers attest to the severity of the attack, which occurred around 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning, shortly after Eid prayers.

In one of the viral videos circulated on social media platforms, witnesses recount the harrowing scene, describing the onslaught unleashed by the army personnel on the outnumbered police officers. Additionally, it's reported that the soldiers confiscated the station's DVRs, detained the officers, and continued their assault.

Responding to the outcry, the Punjab Police issued a statement downplaying the incident as a "minor" one. The statement attempted to dispel rumors of conflict between the army and police, attributing the viral videos to an orchestrated effort to create a false impression. According to the police, both institutions promptly launched a joint investigation into the matter, ultimately resolving it amicably. They emphasized their shared commitment to combating terrorism and criminality through ongoing joint operations in the province, urging the public not to succumb to "fake propaganda."

This disturbing incident underscores the need for thorough investigations and accountability mechanisms within Pakistan's security apparatus to prevent such clashes in the future and uphold the rule of law.
