Players Are Allowed to vote in AIFF Executive Committee Elections Because "National Sports Code 2011 Can't Be Read Like A Statute," According to the Supreme Court
The Supreme Court issued an order mandating the inclusion of 36 football players (24 men and 12 women) in the electoral college for the subsequent All India Football Federation executive committee election, arguing that the "National Sports Code, 2011 cannot be construed in the manner of a statute."
The bench made these comments in response to the claim that only State Federations are allowed to vote in the management of AIFF in accordance with the National Sports Code.
