The Allahabad High Court has given the District Magistrate of Auraiya three months to decide on the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana application that has been pending since August 11, 2021.

While hearing a plea submitted by Ramesh Chandra, the Division Bench of Justice Saumitra Dayal Singh and Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav issued this order.

The petitioner’s lone grouse, according to the Court, is that his claim under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana has been pending before District Magistrate Auraiya since August 11, 2021.

The Court disposed of the petition with a direction to the District Magistrate Auraiya to consider and decide the petitioner’s claim dated August 11, 2021 under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana as expeditiously as possible, preferably within three months from the date of presentation of a duly authenticated copy of the order, after hearing the parties’ counsel and perusing the record.

According to the petitioner, his crop is covered by insurance. Because the insurance company did not take any steps to compensate the victim, a complaint was filed with the District Magistrate. However, the case has been on hold since August of 2021.
