The Supreme Court, on an urgency basis, granted Maulana Kaleem the right to his brother's funeral

Islamic scholar Maulana Kaleem and president of Jamia Imam Waliullah were under custody for allegedly running a massive conversion racket. He got the funding from several schools and organizations. The plea has been filed against him by the state of Uttar Pradesh in the Allahabad High Court.


While hearing on May 9, the Supreme Court prohibited him from leaving the national capital region of Delhi, and he is bound to stay within the boundaries of the territory of Delhi. He gets arrested by the anti-terrorist squad for creating a rift between the different religions of India and trying to break the unity of Indians.


Today morning, i.e., August 28, he has approached the Supreme Court on an urgency basis to attain his brother’s funeral, which was going to take place in his native village of Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, but the bench of judges has postponed the hearing for tomorrow.


On the urgency basis that the funeral is going to take place today only, in the afternoon, a bench of justices Aniruddha Bose, Sanjay Kumar, and SVN Bhatti has granted him permission to attain his brother’s funeral and allowed him to travel to his native village, which is situated in Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, and told him that after the function of his brother’s funeral, he has to return to his residence, which is in the territory of Delhi.


The Supreme Court has prohibited him from participating in any of the political as well as social activities and is not allowed to give any public speech or any type of public stunt. He has been prohibited from doing that, and the court has warned him to only indulge in the activities of his brother’s funeral.
